The Cleveland Museum of Natural History is excited to bring back our signature series of lectures, the Explorer Series.  

 

As we kick off the 2023–24 season and gear up for the total solar eclipse occurring on April 8, 2024, we are thrilled to welcome NASA astronaut Douglas H. Wheelock. During this presentation, Wheelock will share stories from his time aboard the International Space Station and highlight current NASA projects.  

 

Wheelock is a retired United States Army colonel who was selected by NASA in 1998. During his NASA career, Wheelock accumulated more than 178 days in space. He flew on STS-120 in 2007, and in 2010, he served as flight engineer for Expedition 24 and commander for Expedition 25.

 

Doors open at 5:30pm. Light snacks and refreshments will be available for purchase at Origins Café. The lecture starts promptly at 6:30pm. Special-event parking rates apply. 

  

About the Explorer Series 

The Cleveland Museum of Natural History’s Explorer Series features lectures by acclaimed scientists, authors, and experts from around the world. Speakers discuss timely topics and current issues relating to natural history, the natural sciences, human health, and the environment. Lectures take place in the Museum’s newly modernized Murch Auditorium.
