Climate Action Series: Composting in Cleveland

This event is no longer on sale.

Saturday May 21

10:30 AM  –  12:00 PM

Compost is key to drawing down carbon from the atmosphere back to where it belongs—in the soil. In this workshop we'll meet the microbes that make compost, explore the impact of soil carbon and water vapor on the greenhouse effect, learn why drawing down carbon is about more than just reducing atmospheric CO2 concentration, and get acquainted with the principles of building a home compost pile.

If you’re familiar with the company Rust Belt Riders, then you also know Tilth Soil. Rust Belt Riders provides services for food-waste diversion, and Tilth Soil’s products are the results of those services. We are excited to share that each guest who attends this program will get to take home a small soil bag from Tilth Soil.
