Special Stewardship Workday--Tree Planting

Thursday, December 11

10:00 AM - 12:00 PM EST

Join staff of the Museum’s Natural Areas division as we plant new tree seedlings at Mentor Marsh State Nature Preserve!

We’ll meet at the Zimmerman Trail parking lot at Morton Community Park, where Mia Yeager, the Museum’s Habitat Restoration Manager, will offer an introduction to the history and ecological significance of Mentor Marsh and its surrounding uplands, then update us on its ongoing restoration. After, we’ll head into the woods to plant native tree saplings in an area that was once overrun with non-native invasive shrubs. Museum staff will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

We hope you’ll join us in restoring habitat at Mentor Marsh—it should be both informative and fun!
