Description
The 2019 Ohio Botanical Symposium will be held in Columbus, OH at the Villa Milano (1630 Schrock Road). It is hosted by the Ohio Division of Natural Areas and Preserves, in cooperation with The Cleveland Museum of Natural History, The Nature Conservancy, The Ohio State University and the Ohio Division of Parks and Watercraft. This year’s event will feature two keynote speakers: Dr. Reed Noss, Chief Science Advisor with the Southeastern Grasslands Initiative and former Provost’s Distinguished Research Professor of Biology at the University of Central Florida, and Mr. Dave Nolin, retired Director of Natural Resources for the Five Rivers MetroParks. Dr. Noss will present on the ecology of grassland communities of the unglaciated eastern United States, while Mr. Nolin, will cover the historical significance of one of the best prairie remnants in Ohio, Huffman Prairie State Natural Landmark. Other presentations include the Ohio Pollinator Habitat Initiative, bogs and fens, endangered species, rushes, and best plant discoveries.

Lunch is included with event registration (there will be a vegetarian option).
