Night Falls in the Grand River Valley

Friday, March 31, 2023

7:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Join us for an evening hike at the Grand River Terraces Preserve, one of the most spectacular in the Museum’s collection of northern Ohio habitats. The Grand River flows through more than 1,000 acres of mature forest, home to dozens of rare and threatened plant and animal species. Assistant Curator of Vertebrate Zoology Roberta Muehlheim and Curator Emeritus Dr. Timothy Matson will guide us on a search for spotted salamanders and other ambystomid (mole) salamanders. We may also hear the sounds of barred and screech owls, and the loud song of chorus frogs and spring peepers—a sure sign of spring.
