Instructors: Judy Semroc and Larry Rosche

We will visit Headlands Beach and make our way to Mentor Marsh to hike in areas with limited access. We’re seeking out the numerous migrants from across Lake Erie. September offers some of the best birding of the year and if weather conditions are optimal, we will see numerous Neotropical migrants along the beach at Headlands and at Mentor Marsh. If conditions are favorable, there should be large numbers of southbound Monarchs to add to the day’s trip highlights. This area is one of the best sites in Ohio for a variety of birds and insects at this time of year.

Members: $10; nonmembers: $15. Limit: 16.

Difficulty Level: 2/4
