Autumn Colors at Wolf Run
Sunday, November 7th
10:00 AM - 1:00 PM EST
Join us for an autumn stroll at Wolf Run Preserve, which protects nearly a mile of the Vermilion River and contains a variety of habitats and unique geological formations. We'll walk along the river, pausing to admire the shale cliffs towering over its banks and explore the ice-scour micro-prairies in its floodplain. On the opposite side of the preserve, we'll venture into the picturesque, winding box canyon where tiny Wolf Run, a tributary of the Vermilion, flows. We'll take in the fall colors along the way.
Nonmembers: $35
Leadership Circle: $15
Instructors: Garrett Ormiston & Ken Schneider
Meeting Location: Wolf Run Preserve
Field trip intensity: Moderate
What to wear and bring (if out of the ordinary): Hiking boots, binoculars, camera, hiking sticks, water, snacks, etc. There are trails on the preserve, but they are not improved trails, and we may be off-trail at times.
