Natural Areas Field Trips: Forest Hill Park
Sold Out!
Forest Hill Park
Even though our doors are closed from Tuesday, September 26 – Saturday, October 14 to put the finishing touches on our new, breathtaking Visitor Hall, our staff is continuing to host amazing events outside of the Museum.
Join naturalists from the Cleveland Museum of Natural History and Forest Hill Park on a ramble through this historic urban park. Once a portion of John D. Rockefeller’s estate, Forest Hill Park straddles East Cleveland and Cleveland Heights. Boasting beautiful ravines, old meadows slowly returning to forest, and ancient, 200-year-old oaks, we’ll explore important historical features and the plants and animals that continue to call the park home.
This hike is free for Cleveland and East Cleveland residents through the Mandel Community Days, a Museum initiative funded by the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Foundation. Advance registration is preferred.
Instructors: Garrett Ormiston & Ken Schneider
Field trip intensity: Moderate
What to wear and bring (if out of the ordinary): Binoculars, camera, water, perhaps a walking stick
