Solstice Saunter at Windsor Woods
Friday, June 18th, 2021
8:00 PM – 11:00 PM EST
Join us as we celebrate the summer solstice by immersing ourselves in the sights and sounds of the nocturnal forest at the Museum's Windsor Woods Preserve. Nestled in the unique Grand River Lowlands region, the preserve contains expansive meadows and swamp forests. We will keep our ears peeled for the insects and amphibians that call this preserve home, and if conditions are right, we may be able to spend some time looking at the night sky.
Instructors: Garrett Ormiston and Ken Schneider
Meeting Location: Windsor Woods preserve, Route 534, Mesopotamia Township, Trumbull County (directions will be provided)
Field trip intensity: Moderate
What to wear and bring (if out of the ordinary): Hiking boots, binoculars, camera, hiking sticks, water, snacks, etc. There are trails on the preserve, but they are not improved trails, and we may be off-trail at times.
