Two Beauties: Cathedral Woods & Armstrong Hemlock Swamp
Sunday, January 23rd
10:00 AM - 2:00 PM EST
Today we'll explore two stately hemlock stands. Cathedral Woods is a mature hemlock–mixed hardwood forest that boasts a diversity of canopy trees, including hemlock, yellow birch, tuliptree, cucumber magnolia, various oaks, and one of the best populations of striped maple in Ohio. Next we'll pay homage to the old-growth hemlocks of Armstrong Hemlock Swamp, where a healthy headwater stream winds among the silent giants.
