Wildflower & Butterfly Extravaganza at Grand River Terraces
Old-growth forest and hummock-hollow swamp forest habitat are plentiful at the Museum's Grand River Terraces preserve. Join us as we explore this unique site where spring ephemeral wildflowers abound, offering participants an eye-opening opportunity to view a rich and diverse forest ecosystem. We will also search for the elusive West Virginia white butterfly, which is declining across its range but relatively common at this preserve.
