Winter on the Ashtabula River: A Hike at Stanton Forest
Saturday, December 11th
12:00 PM - 3:00 PM EST
Join us as we explore the old-growth forest adjacent to the beautiful State Wild and Scenic Ashtabula River on the Museum's Stanton Preserve. The hemlock ravines are a special treat at this time of year, when the leaves on all of the other trees have fallen, and they provide cover for roosting owls and other birds.
Bring a friend for free! Everyone who registers for this field trip may bring a friend along for free. No need to register them online, simply bring your friend with you when you come! Happy holidays from CMNH!
Nonmembers: $35
Leadership Circle: $15
Instructors: Becky Donaldson & Garrett Ormiston
Meeting Location: Stanton Forest Preserve
Field trip intensity: Moderate
What to wear and bring (if out of the ordinary): Hiking boots, binoculars, camera, hiking stick, water, snacks, etc. There are some trails on the preserve, but they are not improved trails, and we may be off-trail at times.
