It’s a great time to visit the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. 

The Museum is excited to celebrate this milestone with the community by offering free admission for all on Wednesday, December 7. Tickets must be purchased in advance. 

When the Museum reopens to the public at 10 am on Wednesday, December 7, visitors will have the opportunity to experience our new and reimagined spaces.

  • Smead Discovery Center—Presented by PNC, encouraging hands-on learning through even more interactive experiences. 
  • 3-D Movies for the first time ever in Murch Auditorium 
  • S Shafran Planetarium reopens with a new, original program, Unfolding the Universe, and One World, One Sky, featuring favorite characters from Sesame Street 
  • Birdly, a full-body, immersive virtual-reality flight simulator experience 
  • Pop Art icon Andy Warhol’s Endangered Species  
  • A bound first edition set of 19th-century artist and naturalist John James Audubon’s Birds of America 
  • Origins Café, a new, onsite, year-round café, featuring indoor and outdoor seating 

 

Friday Night Lights! We will be keeping the lights on Friday nights. Each Friday evening will feature special programming from 5 pm to 8 pm, including Current Science presentations, gallery talks, up-close looks at the Museum's animals, and in-depth conversations with curators and special guests.

A FEW THINGS BEFORE YOU VISIT   

The Museum is undergoing multiple phases of transformation.   

The front entrance of the Museum is currently closed and will reopen on December 7 with free shuttle service.  

You can read more about the project or call us for an up-to-date report on which galleries are currently affected.  

All visitors 14 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. 

Face masks are recommended but not required.

You can still visit whenever you're free, your ticket will not expire. 

 When you know your new visit date you can call us at 216-231-4600 and press 0 to reach a visitor experience associate with your order info to update your purchase and get your new tickets to secure your spot for the day.
