Stellar Swarms

DATE SELECTED

TIME SELECTED

2:30 PM  –  3:00 PM

The Sun formed in a cluster of stellar siblings 4.5 billion years ago. Over time, the group has dispersed around the Milky Way. The process of star formation continues today, and the winter sky provides an opportunity to enjoy these newly-formed clusters of stars. Many of them are visible to the naked eye and are breathtaking through a pair of binoculars. Join us in the Shafran Planetarium to learn how and why stars form in clusters, and exactly where and when to look to enjoy these stellar swarms!
